Spy drama Nikita dvd performed strongly on its first outing on Thursday night, according to overnight data.
The CW secured 3.57m (1.4) for the pilot episode at 9pm, while the network could only muster 3.35m (1.6) an hour earlier for the second season premiere of The Vampire Diaries Season 2 , 'The Return'.
Big Brother topped the hour with 7.72m (2.5) for CBS. After the network, repeats of CSI dvd collection and The Mentalist Seasons 1-2 dvd grabbed 6m (1.2) and 6.64m (1.2) respectively.
Elsewhere, Rookie Blue's two-hour season finale on ABC appealed to 4.86m (1.2) from 9pm. Prior to that, a Wipeout rerun entertained 5.16m (1.4).
Over on Fox, Bones dvd set and Fringe Series dvd catch-ups interested 4.52m (1.) and 2.47m (.8). Meanwhile, NBC's coverage of the NFL clash between Vikings and Saints averaged a mammoth 22.9m (8.8).
Overall on the scoreboard, NBC swept primetime with an 8.8 rating, CBS was far away in second with 1.6, The CW was close behind with 1.5, and ABC and Fox managed 1.3 and .9.
