David Anders has signed up to star in The CW's The Vampire Diaries DVD (http://www.dvdprostore.com/products/The-Vampire-Diaries-Season-1-DVD-Box-Set-dvdprostore-2093.html), reports Entertainment Weekly.
The 28-year-old actor, who previously portrayed Adam on Heroes 1-3 DVD (http://www.dvdprostore.com/products/Heroes-Seasons-1-3-DVD-Boxset-dvdprostore-1707.html), has reportedly landed a multi-episode arc on the supernatural drama.
Anders will play Elena and Jeremy's uncle Jonathan Gilbert, who arrives in Mystic Falls to "cause some trouble" for the locals.
His name has been mentioned in previous episodes, and the character debuted earlier this season via flashback but was played by Joe Knezevich.
Anders, who bowed out of 24 1-7 DVD Box Set (http://www.dvdprostore.com/) in Monday night's episode, makes his first The Vampire Diaries DVD (http://www.dvdprostore.com/) appearance in April.
