The Sopranos Seasons 1-6 DVD (http://www.dvdbestonline.com/showc.aspx?id=489) revolves around the New Jersey-based Italian-American mobster Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) and the difficulties he faces as he tries to balance the often conflicting requirements of his home life and the criminal organization he heads. It also features Tony's family members and Mafia associates in prominent roles and storylines, most notably his wife Carmela (Edie Falco) and cousin and protégé Christopher Moltisanti (Michael Imperioli). The show just keeps your attention because you never know what will happen or how characters will react. The Sopranos really approaches the bloodthirst of the Gods, their cruelty, their indifference to mere mortals...and their so, so human traits mixed in with their almost unbearable inhumanity. This show has it all; humor, action, drama, good music, good actors, good "behind the camera" people and a good plot. The series's creator, David Chase, has made no secret of the fact that HBO has done everything but kneecap him to prevent him from ending the series. Tony has long, far more complicated dreams that dredge up fears about identity, faith and death — and yet there is humor even in his murkiest subconscious. In his sleep, Tony finds himself adrift in a topsy-turvy wonderland where he is a mild-mannered salesman and Buddhist monks turn aggressive and even violent.
